| Heritage Polytechnic Mass Communication graduands present printer as legacy project |
Graduating students of the Mass Communication Department at Heritage Polytechnic have donated a first-hand imported printer/photocopier to the institution as their class legacy project.
The Class Representative of the outgoing Higher National Diploma (HND) set, Uyobong Mbeh, disclosed this on Tuesday, July 26, shortly after the completion of their final examinations. The presentation coincided with a brief celebration by the graduands to mark the arrival of the equipment.
Confirming the donation, Senior Lecturer in the Mass Communication Department, Ifeanyi Nwokeocha, commended the students for their thoughtfulness. He encouraged them to remain responsible and continue contributing positively to society.
Also speaking, the Acting Head of Department, Esther George, described the gesture as a reflection of good character and gratitude. She urged the graduands to maintain loyalty and commitment in their future endeavors, noting that such values would lead them to greater achievements.
“The Founder of the school, Dr. Emmanuel Ekott, will be proud of this gesture,” she added.
Mbeh further revealed that the class initially set a target of ₦2 million for the project, but not all members were able to meet their financial commitments. Despite this, the class successfully delivered the equipment as a lasting contribution to the department.
The donation is expected to support academic activities within the department and stands as a symbol of appreciation from the graduating class.
